Abstract

The African market constitutes a new strategic orientation for Morocco. The latter seeks to position itself as a regional leader in Africa while promoting sustainable development, thus contributing to the emergence of a new development model in Africa. This research addresses the issue of the sustainability of the Moroccan textile industry, which can be perceived as a catalyst for development in Africa. Adopting an adapted positivist epistemological positioning, this research is based on a hypotheticodeductive approach. The present research outlines the findings of a quantitative study. A quantitative study was then conducted. Data were collected through a questionnaire administered to a sample of 36 companies based in Casablanca. Subsequently, a confirmatory study on the same samples, through multiple regression, was used to answer the main question. The SPSS software was used as a tool for analyzing the results. The results show that the textile industry has the potential to position Morocco as a regional hub for this industry.
