Abstract

Against the backdrop of accelerating digital transformation, Morocco is establishing itself as a financial hub in North Africa, driven by the rise of financial technologies often referred to as FinTechs and the integration of artificial intelligence (AI), which have become essential to the economic and financial landscape. While AI promotes increased operational efficiency and financial inclusion enabling faster transaction processing and structural optimization of transactional processes it simultaneously redefines systemic risks. Consequently, in this article, we aim to analyze the rise of FinTechs within the Moroccan financial sector using a theoretical approach. This research highlights the tension between agile innovation and the requirements of digital ethics, such as algorithmic transparency and the protection of personal data. Through an examination of Morocco’s legal framework and a review of theoretical and empirical literature, we explore the use of AI in the financial sector, and more specifically in FinTech. The objective is to highlight the factors that positively or negatively influence the sustainability of our ecosystem, combining adaptive regulation and digital sovereignty.
